New Delhi, Dec 18: The BJP today hit out at Congress for continuing its boycott of Defence Minister George Fernandes in Lok Sabha, saying this is a "mockery of Parliament".
"The action of Congress is a mockery of Parliament. How long will they continue with it," BJP spokesman V K Malhotra told reporters here.

In Lok Sabha today, as soon as Fernandes rose to reply to a question on procurement procedure for armed forces, members of Congress, Left parties and RJD walked out of the House.

"In Rajya Sabha, Congress has given up its boycott of Fernandes while in Lok Sabha it is continuing. The Tehelka issue has been discussed in the House a number of times," Malhotra said.

"They cannot lay down conditions before withdrawing their boycott in Lok Sabha," he said.

Malhotra said that if Congress was serious about the boycott, then why its members put questions to Fernandes.
