Mumbai, Oct 19: Taking serious note of the
developments in Uttar Pradesh, BJP today decided to take firm
action against dissent as its MLAs raised the banner of
protest against not being included in the recent reshuffle by
Chief Minister Mayawati and concern was expressed over growing
criticism by parivar.
"The criticism by parivar and the dissidence by up
MLAs over denial of cabinet births were among the issues that
figured at the central office bearers meeting," party sources
said here.
However, party spokesman Arun Jaitley sought to play it
down saying, "Though the issue of differences between the BJP
and parivar was not taken up, it could figure at the extended
meeting tomorrow."
A wide range of issues including terrorism, J&K
elections, and the strategy for an aggressive posture in
Congress and other opposition states was also discussed, he
said.
He said terrorists were for the first time on the run and
Pak-sponsored terrorism in J&K was in disarray.
