Narendra Modi will destroy India`s secular fabric: Farooq Abdullah

National Conference chairperson Farooq Abdullah has said his party will never consider joining the BJP-led NDA in case Narendra Modi becomes the prime minister.

New Delhi: National Conference chairperson Farooq Abdullah has said his party will never consider joining the BJP-led NDA in case Narendra Modi becomes the prime minister.

In an interview to a news channel, Abdullah said BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was supported by the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), which has a communal agenda.

"My thinking is that people like Modi are supported by the RSS which is basically a communal organisation and will destroy the secular fabric of the country," he said.
The National Conference "will never join hands with such people", he added.

Asked if he would consider an alliance with the NDA if it projected LK Advani or some other face post election, Abdullah said that these were mere conjectures.

He added that Advani and Jaswant Singh were secular people but the BJP was "all about Narendra Modi today".
"I think today, there is nothing like a BJP. Today it is entirely Modi, Modi and Modi."

Abdullah did not rule out the possibly of a third front coalition coming to power after the Lok Sabha battle.
