Lucknow, Dec 09: Uttar Pradesh government has initiated proceedings under National Security Act (NSA) against jailed Independent MLA Dhananjai Singh, arrested on charges of threatening BJP MLA Puran Singh Bundela early last month, official sources said here today.
Singh, a legislator from Rari assembly constituency in Jaunpur, along with Independent MLA Raja Bhaiya and dissident BJP legislators had raised a banner of revolt against the Mayawati government. He is currently in Jhansi jail.
A team of district police officials has left for Jhansi to serve the orders, sources added.
