Washington: In Twitters round-up Monday, December 7 of 2015 trends on its platform, a category for Key Twitter events was revealed.
The top 10 sites and events shared on the social media site in 2015 include the Paris attacks at Charlie Hebdo January 7 and the November 13 deadly spree in Paris with the hashtags #JeSuisCharlie et #PrayforParis.
Amongst such serious subjects, Twitters' number one event was regarding British pop-band One Direction following the departure of Zayn Malik. The news event was retweeted 726,009 times around the world.
Other key events included the Fergusun shooting, the affirmation of gay marriage in the USA and Caitlyn Jenner's introduction.
