For the first time since independence, Pakistan government has allowed 150 Sikh pilgrims to visit the historic Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Sialkot district where Guru Nanak had breathed his last, Harpal Singh Bhullar, president, International Bhai Mardana Yadgari Kirtan Darbar Society has said.
He said that the society had received the official information from the Pakistan High Commission.
At least 150 Sikh pilgrims will leave for Pakistan on September 17 and return on September 24, he told reporters in New Delhi on Thursday.
During the week-long trip, the pilgrims will visit Panja Sahib, Nankana Sahib, Sacha Sauda, Dehra Sahib, Emanabad, and the Jatha' will reach Kartarpur Sahib where it will participate in Guru Nanak's special death anniversary Samagam.
A 101-feet-high 'Nishan Sahib' will also be installed during the anniversary celebration in Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib, Bhullar said, adding nine copper vessels being manufactured at Amritsar will also be taken.
