Inter-state arms racket busted in Mathura, two arrested in UP

Mathura: Two inter-state arms smugglers were arrested here and a huge cache of arms and ammunition was seized from them, police said Tuesday.

Posing as customers, police yesterday arrested two youths, Girish and Abhishek, who used to procure illegal arms from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and sell them in Uttar Pradesh, said CO (City) Ajaypal Sharma.

Four pistols, eight brownings, two 32 bore cartridges, ten 315 bore cartridges were recovered from their possession.

Efforts are on to nab the other gang members, he added.
