New Delhi: A 40-year-old woman was gang-raped by two men after rendering her unconscious by giving her sedatives-laced drink in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place in Sardhana area of the district on Saturday night.
"The victim was offered a spiked drink after which she fell unconscious. Taking advantage of the situation, she was taken to a secluded place in a forest area and allegedly gang-raped," the Uttar Pradesh police said.
The victim approached the police after the incident and filed a complaint against two persons, of which one of the accused was known to her.
In her complaint, the victim said that she was offered a lift by the two accused. One of them offered her a drink which was spiked with sedatives after which she fell unconscious. Taking advantage of the situation, the men took her to a secluded in the forest and gang-raped her.
