BJP declares candidates for two bypolls in West Bengal

BJP on Tuesday declared its candidates for bye-elections to one Lok Sabha and one assembly seat in West Bengal polling for which will be held on February 13.

New Delhi: BJP on Tuesday declared its candidates for bye-elections to one Lok Sabha and one assembly seat in West Bengal polling for which will be held on February 13.

While Subroto Thakur is BJP candidate for Bongaon (SC) Lok Sabha bypoll, its leader Manabendra Roy will be the party nominee for Krishnaganj (SC) assembly constituency.

"The BJP Central Election Committee has decided to name Subroto Thakur for Bangaon (SC) Lok Sabha and Manabendra Roy for the legislative Assembly bypolls," party general secretary J P Nadda said.

The Bongaon LS seat fell vacant after the death of Trinamool Congress member Kapil Krishna Thakur on October 13 last year.

The polling process for the bypolls started yesterday with the issue of notification and the last date of filing nominations is January 27.
