Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit West Bengal on August 21 and 22.

Kolkata: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit West Bengal on August 21 and 22.

The Prime Minister, after arrival on August 21, would attend the the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, state secretariat sources said.

Next day, Singh would attend the golden jubilee celebrations of the Indian Institute of Management (Calcutta) at Joka in South 24 Parganas district.
Later, he would attend the diamond jubilee celebrations and 57th annual convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Kharagpur in West Midnapore district, the sources said.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee might meet the Prime Minister at a dinner at the Raj Bhavan on August 21 to discuss the "Bengal package" offered by the Centre to tide over West Bengal`s acute financial crisis.
