Twelve Palestinian youths
were injured in Israeli army fire near two Jewish settlements
in the centre of the Gaza strip on Saturday on the second day of
violent clashes, a hospital source in the Gaza city said.
“A total of 12 Palestinian youths were injured both by
live ammunition and by rubber bullets fired by the Israeli
army. One youth was seriously injured by live ammunition in
the neck,” the hospital source told AFP.
“A general strike has been called in all the Palestinian
territories and high school students were out in the streets
demonstrating”, an AFP correspondent witnessed.
