Australian Open, Day 7: As it happened

On day 7, Djokovic, Federer, Berdych, Nishikori won their respective matches to enter the quarters in men's section, while Serena, Sharapova, Radwanska and Suarez Navarro made into the last eight.

17:40 IST: Roger Federer has taken the first set against David Goffin. A little while ago ten seed Spaniard Carla Suarez-Navarro fought back from a set down to beat Aussie hope Daria Gavrilova 0-6, 6-3, 6-3. And she will play fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska, who survived Anna-Lena Friedsam test earlier.

16:40 IST: Suarez Navarro beginning to work her way back into it - she leads 3-2 in the 2nd after Gavrilova took the 1st 6-0. Suarez Navarro makes a comeback to take the 2nd set over Gavrilova 6-3.

11:43 IST: Gilles Simon finds the force. Takes second set in a tiebreak 7-6(1) against Novak Djokovic. One set all.

11:12 IST: Jack Sock/Vasek Pospisil end Hewitt/Groth's inspired run 6-4 6-2 in the men's doubles.

10:36 IST: Novak Djokovic stretched by Gilles Simon but manages to take the first set 6-3 in a little under an hour.

Nigel Sears was in a stable condition on Sunday after a dramatic mid-match collapse at the Australian Open which prompted his son-in-law, Andy Murray, to race to his bedside.

07:14 IST: In what was predicted to be a closely fought encounter, Nishiklori has taken a 2-set lead over Tsonga. The Japanese World No. 7 is leading 6-4, 6-2.
