Amazon India sees record Prime sign-ups, 68% from small-town India

In the first 36 hours, small and medium businesses, startups, artisans, women entrepreneurs sold around 10 lakh unique products. Amazon.in saw single largest day of Prime sign ups; 1.9X higher than last year with 68 per cent coming from Tier 2 & 3 cities The overall sales in the first festive week is likely to touch $5.9 billion this year.

Amazon extends 4-hour delivery in THESE cities and towns

Surat, Mysuru, Mangalore, Bhopal, Nashik, Nellore, Anantapur, Warangal, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Patna, among other cities, will have access to the service. In 2021, it expanded to 14 additional cities, including Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Pune. Amazon first offered same-day delivery in India as part of its prime membership, its loyalty programme, in 2017.
