Henderson has opportunity to put De Gea under pressure at Man Utd: Southgate

Gareth Southgate said that Dean Henderson has the opportunity to put David de Gea under pressure for the goalkeeping role at Manchester United. Henderson spent the last two seasons with Sheffield United on loan and kept 13 clean sheets which earned him a Premier League Young Player of the season nomination. On Thursday, the 23-year-old signed a new five-year contract with Manchester United and has also found a spot in Southgate`s squad for England`s upcoming Nations League fixtures.

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson signs contract extension with Manchester United

Henderson is a product of United’s Academy and has been with the side since the early age of 14. Last season, Henderson had kept 13 clean sheets in the Premier League--an achievement which is the joint-third highest in the division. The goalkeeper signed a new five-year deal with Man United that will keep him with the Premier League club until June 2025.
