CM Kejriwal approves appointment of Justice Shabihul Husnain as new DERC Chief
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday approved the appointment of Justice Shabihul Husnain (Retd) as the new Chairman of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) on the recommendation of the selection committee constituted under the Electricity Act 2003.

DERC announces new power tariff for consumers in Delhi
As per the new rates, the fixed charges up to 2 kilowatts (kW) has been reduced from Rs 125 to Rs 20, while the charges above till 5 kW has been cut from Rs 140 to Rs 50.

Shares of power companies moved higher, surging as much as 4 percent today, after the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) approved tariff hike for in Delhi region FY15. CESC climbed 3.85 percent, while Adani Power gained 3.28 percent and Tata Power rose by 3.53 percent on the BSE.
