Chahal a like-for-like concussion substitute for Jadeja? This player doubts

Jadeja sustained a concussion after being hit on the left side of his forehead off a Mitchell Starc delivery in the last over of India's innings at Manuka Oval. Yuzvendra Chahal was called in as concussion substitute for Ravindra Jadeja, a decision which cost Australia as the leg-spinner finished with figures if 3/25. India went on to win the opening T20I by 11 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series against the Aaron Finch-led side.

The decision had apparently irked Australia head coach Justin Langer, who was seen discussing the issue with match referee David Boon at the Manuka Oval. Ravindra Jadeja smashed an unbeaten 23-ball 44 with the help of five fours and a six to help India post 161/7. Jadeja's 44 is now the highest score for an Indian batsman at No. 7 or below in T20Is.
