`Deep Throat` porn star Harry Reems dies at 65 due to pancreatic cancer

New York: Harry Reems, the star of the porno movie ` Deep Throat`, finally lost the long battle against pancreatic cancer and died at the age of 65 on Tuesday.

The porno superstud, whose original name was Herbert Streicher, passed away at a Salt Lake City veterans hospital, his friend Don Schenk said. Reems, who was one of the most popular pornographic actors of the 1970s, had been living in Park City, Utah, but grew up on 168th St. and Grand Concourse and dreamt of becoming a legit actor, the New York Daily reported. The Bronx-born star, who earned just 100 dollars to bed Linda Lovelace in the seminal movie was the only US actor ever convicted of obscenity. Desperate for money, he boosted his porn career with his remarkable physique and sexual stamina into a porn career, starting at age 21, said that he loved sex and acting and was very promiscuous. ANI
