Great news for govt employees! Govt eases application and settlement of LTC claims

New Delhi: This will come as a great new year news for central government employees who have on many occassions faced procedural difficulties in application and settlement of Leave Travel Concession (LTC)  claims.

The government has eased LTC rules to remove bottlenecks and simplify the procedure of application and make processing of LTC claims time bound.

As per the new government circular, leave would be sanctioned within 5 days. While time taken by Administration for verification of LTC claim after the LTC bill is submitted by the employee for settlement will be 10 days. However, an additional two days will be taken where the place of posting of the employees is away from their Headquarters.

The new circular also says that the Leave Sanctioning Authority shall obtain a self-certification from the employee regarding the proposed LTC journey.

In addition to the above, the employees are also encouraged to share interesting insights and pictures, if any, of the destination he/she visited while availing LTC on an appropriate forum.
