New Delhi: Kiran Rao`s eight-month-old son Azad is keeping the filmmaker so busy that she is unable to write her next script.
Kiran, 38, who made her directorial debut with husband Aamir Khan`s ‘Dhobi Ghat’, says spending time with the tot is the best thing in her life.
The couple became proud parents of Azad Rao Khan on December 1. The baby was born through IVF to a surrogate mother.
"I am busy with my baby. I love spending time with him and I feel this is the best phase of my life. Aamir also tries to spend as much time as he can with him. Everything else in life has taken a back seat. I am writing something currently but I don`t know how it will shape up," said Kiran, who was in the Capital to attend 12th Osian`s Cinefan film festival.
‘Dhobi Ghat’ was screened at the ongoing film festival and Kiran said she is honoured that the organisers chose the film to be a part of it.
"I am happy that they showcased my film here. It was not a main-stream film and I have presented Mumbai the way I perceive it. It`s good that such film festivals give privilege to certain films which are not popular," she added.
Kiran is all set for their first family outing in Chicago, where Aamir will be shooting for Yash Raj`s ‘Dhoom 3’ next month.
"We are heading to Chicago in the first week of August. It will be our first family outing and Aamir and I are excited about it," she said.
