I miss my father: Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan, who is recording father Harivansh Rai Bachchan`s `Madhushala` in his own voice, says he misses him.

New Delhi: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is recording father Harivansh Rai Bachchan`s `Madhushala` in his own voice, says he misses him.
"I miss my Father. And references to his work through my immature decibels, leaves me weak and indulgent. I repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat- his words and his `dhun` in my ears, and I fret the presence of any other while I do so," Bachchan posted on his blog.
`Madhushala` is a book of 135 "quatrains" - verses of four lines `ruba`i` by poet and writer Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The highly metaphorical work has been celebrated in Bachchan starrer 1990 film ‘Agneepath’, which was taken from a poem of the same name from `Madhushala`. The poem has also found resonance in the remake of the same film recently which starred Hrithik Roshan. The 69-year-old actor also said that while recording the verses he despises any kind of distraction or interference. "I wish to be free from all encumbrances. Which is why when I put the earphones to my hearing, and live in that intense undisturbed atmosphere of my creation, and my Father, the ecstasy of my expression is not just the enjoyment of the sound, but the freedom from the outside; undisturbed, and without any kind of pollution of external forces. Another world comes up. And this is the world that you wish to live in for that moment," he said. "And so, when I miss my Father`s presence, I wish to escape into his world. To be with him, to hear him, to read him, project him the way I feel it should be. That for me is the most effective healing of my soul," Bachchan added. PTI
