Beijing: In continuation of its policy to censor the foreign news websites which are critical of president Xi Jinping, China has banned the Economist and Time news portals for the same reason.
As per media reports, The Economist website flashed a cover article critical of Jinping this edition. It was in response that China blocked the website since April 2.
The Economist's mobile app has also been censored.
Several public accounts managed by The Economist on WeChat, a popular Chinese social media app, have also been suspended.
