Hamish Hamilton, the man behind Madonna and Beyonce Knowles` Super Bowl half-time shows has scooped a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Craft Award for his directing work.

London: Hamish Hamilton, the man behind Madonna and Beyonce Knowles` Super Bowl half-time shows has scooped a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Craft Award for his directing work.
Hamilton, 46, has established himself as one of the world`s top big show directors, overseeing the Oscars, the MTV Video Music Awards and concerts for Neil Diamond, U2, Robbie Williams, the Rolling Stones, the Spice Girls and Christina Aquilera, reported Daily Star.
Now he is to be honoured with a special award at the Bafta Craft Awards next month. "I am surprised and a little emotional... It is great to be recognised for work that surrounds me with so many talented friends," he said. Hamilton also took charge of the TV broadcasts of the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Actor Stephen Mangan has signed up to host the 2013 Craft Awards, which recognises behind-the-scenes talent. PTI
