Nurses thrash doctor in Bihar hospital for allegedly molesting trainee nurse - Watch

The accused doctor was alleged to have molested a trainee nurse in the same hospital where he works.

KATIHAR, BIHAR: A group of nurses in a hospital in Bihar's Katihar thrashed a doctor for allegedly molesting a trainee nurse on the hospital campus. A video of the incident shows the nurses raging against the doctor and beating him up with shoes.

The incident reportedly took place on Saturday at the Sadar Hospital in Katihar, news agency ANI reported. Efforts by unidentified individuals to intervene in the situation and placate the nurses failed.

The doctor allegedly molested a second-year trainee nurse. She is reported to be in shock after the sexual assault and has been admitted to the hospital to recover from the trauma.

The doctor, a civil surgeon, reportedly went into hiding after he was thrashed, and efforts are underway to locate him.

The situation at the hospital was brought under control only after the district administration moved in police personnel to restore order. 

Officials have said they will take a stock of the situation and have promised an investigation. They said they would examine CCTV footage from the hospital to corroborate the happenings and would act against the accused if needed.
