Slight relief from cold wave in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla: A sunny Monday brought slight relief to most parts of Himachal Pradesh from the ongoing cold wave conditions as the minimum temperature increased a few notches, the Meteorological Department (MeT) said.

However, the Shimla MeT centre has forecast snowfall and rain at some places in mid and high hills while thundershowers in low hills and plains of the state from February 12 to February 15.

The minimum temperature in Manali, Kufri, Dalhousie and Shimla was recorded at 0 degree Celsius, 2.1 degrees Celsius, 2.9 degrees Celsius and 4.1 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.

Lahaul and Spiti's administrative centre Keylong continued to be the coldest place in the state with the lowest temperature at minus 10.8 degrees Celsius, the Met department said, adding the minimum temperature in Kinnaur's Kalpa was minus 4.2 degrees Celsius.
