Patna: A day after he courted controversy by defending the Maoists' levy from contractors in the state, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Rasm Manjhi was once again in the news on Monday.

This time it was after a youth hurled a slipper at him during a 'janta darbar' function in Patna. Luckily, the slipper fell short of the dias on which the CM was seated.

As soon as the youth was overpowered by the police, he started to shout and wail, saying, “I don't want to live, kill me...kill me.”

Identified as Amritosh from Chapra district of the state, the youth said that he was forced to take this step so as to draw the government's attention towards his plight.

Amritosh said he had been coming to the janta darbar for the last two years but he was never given a hearing. It is not yet yet clear what was his grievance.

“Janta darbar is a farce, only papers are collected...it is a nautanki,” he said while being taken away the police.
