Gandhinagar: Gujarat Congress leader
Shaktisinh Gohil on Wednesday alleged that the Narendra Modi
government had ordered the state intelligence bureau to tap
phones of a numbers of political leaders and others during and
after the 2002 post-Godhra riots.
He also accused senior BJP leader LK Advani of adopting
"double standards", saying Advani was not allowing Parliament
to function over reports of phone tapping allegedly ordered by
Central government but was "a mute spectator" when the same
had happened Gujarat eight years ago.

Gohil told mediapersons that senior IPS officer R B
Sreekumar had mentioned this fact in his affidavit submitted
before the riots inquiry commission headed by former Supreme
Court judge Justice G T Nanavati.
He said he has sent a copy of the affidavit of Sreekumar
to Advani and also released it to media.

Gohil alleged that the phone of then Congress president
Shankarsinh Vaghela was also tapped.
