Chandigarh: A two-day orientation programme starting Saturday has been organised to impart training to the newly-elected BJP MLAs from Haryana at Surajkund in Faridabad district.

The event will be held in different sessions during the course of the two days and will see participation of senior leaders, including Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Venkaiah Naidu and KP Gujjar, who is also the Faridabad MP, Faridabad MLA Vipul Goyal said on Friday.

Besides Vinay Sahastrabuddhe, Anil Jain and Ram Lal will also be present at the orientation programme, he said.

BJP formed the government for the first time on its own in Haryana's after the October 15 Assembly polls last year and majority of the legislators are first-timers.

Even Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is a first-time MLA, and was elected from the Karnal seat.

The training programme, to be attended by all the 47 BJP MLAs from Haryana, will give tips on improving their performance as a legislator as well as on their conduct, Goyal said.

Senior leaders will impart training to the first-time MLAs on how to utilise their services best in the interest of public good.

The event is on the lines of a two-day workshop which was held in Surajkund in June last year for the newly-elected Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs of BJP and inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
