I-T Dept unearths Rs 62 cr from 84 surveys in Indore

Indore: The Income Tax department here
unearthed an amount of Rs 62 crore from 84 surveys it
conducted during 2009\10, officials said.

"In the 84 surveys carried out, an undisclosed amount
of Rs 62 crore was unearthed during the year. Besides cash and
jewellery worth Rs 5.40 crore was seized," Indore area Chief
Income Tax Commissioner Surendra Mishra said.

He said that tax collection from Indore was estimated
at Rs 1417 crore which includes corporate tax of Rs 800 crore
during the last financial year.

Mishra said that they were working out the final
tax collection figures for the year which could go upto
Rs 1,470 crore.
