 The Bar Council of Maharashtra will organise a two-day state-level lawyers' conference here from tomorrow.

Nagpur: The Bar Council of Maharashtra will organise a two-day state-level lawyers' conference here from tomorrow.

Over 2,000 lawyers from across the state and Goa are likely to participate in the conference scheduled for March 14-15, themed 'Legal education and professional vision', chairman Bar Council of Maharashtra, advocate Asif Shaukat Qureshi told a press conference here last evening.

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadanvis will be the chief guest for valedictory function tomorrow.

The idea of the conference is to suggest improvement in legal education and to give proper shape to the careers of young lawyers, Qureshi said.

Supreme Court Judge Justice Sharad Bobde who will inaugurate the conference tomorrow, while Judge Justice Uday Lalit, also a Supreme Court judge, will preside over the programme.

Bombay High Court judges, Justice V M Kanade, Justice Bhushan Gavai, Advocate General of Maharashtra Sunil Manohar, Advocate General of Goa A N S Nadkarni, Additional Solicitor General of India Anil Singh and chairman of Bar Council of India Manan Kumar Mishra will also attend the conference.

High court judges Justice Vasanti Naik and justice Zaka-A-Haq, vice-chairman of Bar Council of India, Bhoje Gowda will be the guest of honour, Qureshi added.
