Nagpur: Five persons were killed when their car was hit by a speeding truck in Wardha district of Maharashtra in the wee hours Thursday, police said.
The ill-fated vehicle was hit by the truck near Deoli in Wardha.
The victims, hailing from Ghatanji in Yavatmal district, were returning home after some work in city when the mishap took place.
The truck driver fled from the spot, police said, adding that offences under relevant sections were registered against him for rash and negligent driving.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately known.
