Thane: Six pilgrims killed in road accident

Six devotees were killed and five others injured when a car in which they were travelling met with an accident on the Mumbai-Agra Highway.

Thane: Six devotees including two women were
killed and five others injured when a car in which they were
travelling met with an accident on the Mumbai-Agra Highway
near Sahapur, police said on Saturday.

The mishap occurred last evening when the vehicle hit a
road divider and overturned near Khardi, they said.

The victims were on their way to Mumbai from Shirdi when
the accident took place. The injured, some of them seriously,
have been admitted to the Thane and Sion Civil Hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Shyamsunder A
Shukla, Dinesh Tripati, Shushila K Shukla, Baroti R Tiwari,
Rajmani R Tiwari, and Shuas R Tiwari.

Sahapur police have registered a case of accidental death
and investigations are on.
