Karat demands firm action against Hindu extremist elements

Mounting a blistering attack on the Sangh Parivar, CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat on Saturday asked the Centre to take firm action against Hindu extremist outfits.

Alappuzha, Nov 15: Mounting a blistering
attack on the Sangh Parivar, CPI (M) general secretary Prakash
Karat on Saturday asked the Centre to take firm action against Hindu
extremist outfits in view of their alleged involvement in
subversive activities in parts of the country.

"We want the Central government to take firm action
against organisations like Bajrang Dal just as firm action has
been taken against some extremist Muslim outfits," Karat said
addressing a Fishery sector Workers rally in Alappuzha.

Referring to seizure of several country-made bombs in
parts of Kannur district in Kerala, he alleged that these
bombs were manufactured by men belonging to the RSS.

"These are the same people belonging to the same network
operating in Maharashtra and other places in the country," he
said.

"We must recognize that the Hindutva and the RSS, which
is an extreme manifestation, do not represent the Hindus
though they claim to be representatives of the Hindus," he
said.

On G-20 summit in Washington, he said nothing was going
to be solved by the meet as the very same persons are
attending the meet who are responsible for the crisis.

"The very same persons who committed the crime by
bringing the financial crisis are gathering in Washington.
Nothing is going to be solved," he said.

Karat also asked the Centre to adopt policies which
would help increase production, create jobs and protect the
existing jobs. He said the Government should give up the
policy of subsidising the rich and burdening the poor.
