No quorum; RS adjourns for day

New Delhi, Apr 10: Post-lunch business in the Rajya
Sabha today collapsed as the house was abruptly adjourned for
the day due to lack of quorum.

Quorum bells were rung at 1430 hours when the house was
to assemble for post-lunch session. In the absence of a
quorum, the house was adjourned for the day by secretary
general Yogendra Narain on the direction of the chair.

The upper house would now meet on April 21 as Parliament
would remain closed from tomorrow due to holidays.
