23 kg heroin worth Rs 115 crores recovered in Amritsar

A joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and Customs officials have recovered 23 kilogram heroin worth Rs 115 crores in the international market at Tehkala border outpost of Amritsar Sector.

Amritsar: A joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and Customs officials have recovered 23 kilogram heroin worth Rs 115 crores in the international market at Tehkala border outpost of Amritsar Sector.

BSF Deputy Inspector General of Punjab Frontier RS Kataria said that the joint team during a special operation late Thursday night observed some people throwing packets from the other side of the border.

He said that the smugglers attacked the jawans and then fled away after they were challenged by the force.

After the firing, the jawans searched the place and seized 23 packets of heroin, each containing one kg of the drug.A mobile phone with Pakistani SIM card was also recovered from there.
