Moga: Police on Monday arrested eight persons for their alleged involvement in illegal sand mining in the district.
The accused were held with eight tractor-trailors laden with sand during a special drive, police said, adding that they were on an alert against illegal sand mining in the district near some villages like Kotisekhan and Dharamkot.
