Quetta, Nov 25: A homemade remote-controlled bomb
exploded along a road near an army auto repair yard in the
southwestern city of Quetta, causing no injuries, police said
today.
No one claimed responsibility for the explosion in the
northern outskirts of Quetta where military barracks and
offices are also located, said Liaqat Ali, a Quetta Police
official.
The explosion left a crater near the road but the road
was not damaged, Ali said.
He said authorities were investigating the blast. It was
not known whether the attack was aimed at the army facility
which serves as a scrap yard and where damaged military
vehicles are also repaired.
Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province, has been
the scene of several acts of sectarian violence in recent
months.
