Faridabad: Six girls fell unconscious in
a school on Wednesday after they were made to sit in the open in
hot and humid conditions due to paucity of classrooms, an
official said.
The girls, students of class four and five of
Government Girls Senior Secondary school, were admitted to a
nearby hospital, District Education Officer Rajiv Kumar said.
The students fainted after they were made to sit under
a scorching sun due to shortage of classrooms, he said.
"Neither we have sufficient classrooms nor drinking
water in the school. All students cannot be accommodated...
This is why some were asked to sit in the open," teacher
Sangita said.
