Nigeria schoolgirls kidnap: Military `raids Boko Haram cell`, makes first arrest

A Boko Haram leader related to the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls was arrested by the Nigeria military after it raided the intelligence unit linked to the incident.

Abuja: A Boko Haram leader related to the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls was arrested by the Nigeria military after it raided the intelligence unit linked to the incident.

Boko Haram leader Babuji Ya`ari was a part of the attack on a Nigerian school from where the schoolgirls were abducted.
Ya`ari spied for the terror outfit under the guise of a member of the the civilian vigilante group fighting against Boko Haram.

He was also involved in the killing of emir of Gwoza earlier this year and part of deadly attacks in Maidugiri since the last three years, the military statement stated.
The Defence Ministry claims to have arrested several women members of the group as well.
