The picture is apparently a still from a play titled Shakuntala.

Neetu is Shashi’s brother Raj Kapoor’s daughter-in-law. Interestingly, Neetu had been romantically paired with her then uncle-in-law to be on screen almost three and a half decades ago.

The Kapoors have always been a cohesive unit and have been with each other through thick and thin.

For the uninitiated, Shashi was married to English actress Jennifer Kendal who passed away in 1984. Her death caused unbearable pain to Shashi who was left completely heart-broken. They were blessed with sons Karan, Kunal and daughter Sanjana.

Shashi took care of Prithvi Theatre (which now one of the most reputed platforms for theatre enthusiasts) in Mumbai and played a pivotal role in establishing it further.

Kapoor, who passed away at the age of 79, was wrapped in the tricolour and given a three-gun salute by the police for his last rites at the state funeral held at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium on Tuesday.
