New Delhi: Indian-origin British boxer Sanjeev Singh Sahota has been roped in to fight in one of the six supporting contests during Vijender Singh's WBO Asia title bout against Australian Kerry Hope here on July 16.

The 24-year-old, who has won both his pro bouts since making his debut in the circuit in April, will be contesting in a four-round bout against a yet-to-be-named opponent.

The remaining boxers for the undercard are still being finalised and are expected to be known by next week.

"Honored to be fighting on @boxervijender undercard on his big title fight! Go get it bro????Lets make Indian history!" Sahota posted on his twitter handle.

"Lets get ready to rumble in Delhi India 16/7/16," he added.

Like Vijender, Sahota, who competes in the super lightweight (60kg) category, also comes from the Queensberry Promotions stable.

The much-anticipated show in Delhi is scheduled to be held at the Thyagraj Sports Complex in Delhi.

The highlight of the evening will be Vijender's contest against Hope, a former European champion, for the WBO's super middleweight Asia Pacific title.

Also up for grabs for the winner of the contest is a place in the top-15 of the WBO rankings.

World Boxing Organisation (WBO) and Indian Boxing Council (IBC) will jointly conduct the technical aspect of the contest.
