All these AoNs are in the highest priority category of defence acquisition --- 'Buy [Indian-IDDM (Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured)]. All these acquisition proposals will be indigenously designed, developed and manufactured.

Govt considering 'Made in India' carbines for defence forces

Amid the ongoing standoff with China at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, the government is considering to procure 'Made in India' carbines for meeting their urgent requirement of the armed forces. The armed forces reportedly require 3.5 lakh carbines, of which around 94,000 were proposed to be acquired through import route under fast track procedures.

India to buy 21 MiG-29, 12 Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter jets from Russia
