Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft completes over 9,000 orbits around moon: ISRO
ISRO Chairman, K Sivan said the eight payloads on board the Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft are conducting remote sensing and in-situ observations of the Moon at around 100 km altitude from the lunar surface. The science data are being made available for analysis by academia and institutes, for a greater participation to bring out more science from Chandrayaan-2 mission.

Private players in India can now build and operate rocket launch sites
India has decided to allow private companies to establish and operate rocket launch sites within and outside the country Any rocket launch from Indian or overseas territory can be carried out only with authorisation from IN-SPACe The launch could be from own or leased launch site and also from mobile platforms (land, sea or air)

Indian astronomers see extreme-UV light from galaxy billion light-years away
The galaxy called AUDFs01 was discovered by a team of Astronomers led by Dr Kanak Saha from the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics(IUCAA) Pune. India's AstroSat/UVIT was reportedly able to achieve this unique feat because the background noise in the UVIT detector is much less than one on the Hubble Space Telescope of US-based NASA.
