Veteran bhajan singer Narendra Chanchal passes away

Popular Bhajan singer Narendra Chanchal has breathed his last on January 22, 2021. The 80-year-old veteran singer died at a private hospital on Friday following some health complications. Narendra Chanchal is known for his devotional songs. He also sang a few songs in Hindi movies. His track Beshak Mandir Masjid for 1973 film Bobby won him the Filmfare Best Male Playback Award.

Chanchal won the Filmfare Best Male Playback Award in 1974 for his song ‘Beshak Mandir Masjid’ in 1973 film ‘Bobby’.

Chanchal was admitted to the south Delhi hospital on November 27, 2020 and died from brain complications, as per sources. "I doubt anyone will ever walk up to Vaishnodevi without hearing his voice resounding through the hills," Vishal Dadlani wrote. Celebrity chef Kunal Kapoor said that for him Chanchal’s name was synonymous for ‘jagaratas’.
