Bansal holds around 1.84 per cent stake in Flipkart after selling part of his stake to Tencent. The transaction was completed on October 26, 2021. Tencent arm holds 0.72 per stake in Flipkart.

PhonePe gets $50 mn from Tencent, plans to use funds out of India
PhonePe, which has full fledged operations in India only, plans to use the fund to support business transaction in Singapore. Flipkart continues to be the largest stakeholder in the company with 87.30 per cent stake followed by parent firm Walmart. Fund raised from Tencent will reportedly not be brought to India because of restrictions imposed under Press Note 3.
