ED questions Trinamool MLA in Narada sting case

Iqbal Ahmed and Sultan Ahmed were also questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the case.

Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday questioned Trinamool Congress MLA and Kolkata Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Iqbal Ahmed in connection with the Narada sting probe, an official said.

"Ahmed appeared before ED officials today (Wednesday) and was quizzed for about seven hours in the Narada sting case," the ED official said.

Ahmed was among a dozen Trinamool leaders allegedly caught on video tape while receiving money in exchange for a promise to dole out favours to a fictitious company. The clipping was uploaded on the Narada news portal in March last year ahead of the assembly elections in West Bengal.

His brother and party MP Sultan Ahmed had also been summoned by the agency in the case.

Iqbal Ahmed and Sultan Ahmed were also questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the case.
