Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra to join forces for Sadak 2?

New Delhi: The on-and-off couple Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt are once again being rumoured to be seen in a film together. No, it's not Aashiqui 3 but Sadak 2. Sadak released in 1991 and starred Mahesh Bhatt's elder daughter Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles.

Besides Pooja and Sanjay, it was a classic act by late actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar as Maharani which gave it a cult stature. The film was high on critical acclaim and even received massive appreciation from the viewers.

Now, lately it was announced that a sequel to the original is in the pipeline and who else but Pooja and Sanjay will be seen reprising their roles reportedly. However according to Pinkvilla.com, two other big names will join the original cast and they happen to be Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra.

Pinkvilla has quoted a leading daily which states that Alia and Sid will be playing a young couple in the flick. The report quotes a source as telling the tabloid, “Earlier, there were speculations that Sidharth and Alia are doing Mohit Suri's next directorial project, Aashiqui 3, but the film has been put on hold. Instead, Vishesh Films has cast them for Sadak 2. While the film's director is yet to be finalised, they want to finish the casting process so that the film can go on floors soon."

However, no confirmation has been made by the makers on this development as yet.
