New Delhi: Indian pacer bowler Praveen Kumar has taklen the plunge into politics, joining the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh.
The 29-year-old, who hails from Meerut, joined the state's ruling party in presence of CM Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow.
Kumar represented Gujarat Lions in the last edition of the Indian Premier League.
His last match in India colors was a T20I against South Africa in 2012.
