Aeroméxico flight has priority landing, thanks to a snake hiding in the overhead compartment! - Watch video

New Delhi: Many would be aware about the 2006 thriller 'Snakes on a Plane'. That was a work of fiction, but no one would expect to find a snake on a plane in reality, would they?

Well, much to the horror of the passengers of an Aeroméxico flight, their worst nightmare came true after a snake was discovered nestling in one of the overhead lockers.

The snake dropped from the baggage compartment and dangled over the passengers' heads. One of the passengers whipped out his/her phone and immediately shot a video, which has totally creeped people out.

The snake in question was a poisonous five-foot-long green viper, which makes the matter even worse.

A man standing at the side appears to have jumped up from his seat in fear, at the moment the camera loses focus.

It has been reported that the flight had a priority landing and the snake was dealt with by animal control. No passenger was harmed.

As per the Daily Mail, a spokesman for Aeroméxico said, “AeroMexico reports that today, on flight 231 from Torreón to Mexico City, a snake was detected inside the passenger cabin.

Due to the presence of the animal and following security protocols, the flight was given priority to land at the AICM. Once it had landed, AICM personnel secured the reptile.

The procedures carried out for this flight are currently being evaluated to determine how the animal entered the cabin and measures have been taken to avoid such incidents in the future.

For Aeroméxico, the security of its passengers and crew is of the highest priority and it always works to meet the highest quality standards.”
