Eman Ahmed's weight loss surgery successful: Know her current diet chart

New Delhi: Eman Ahmed, the Egyptian woman who underwent a bariatric surgery this week, has been put on a high protein liquid diet that is administered to her via a feeding tube.
The Egyptian who weighed nearly 500 kg and was possibly the world's heaviest woman successfully underwent a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy surgery on March 7.
The weight loss surgery was conducted under the supervision of well-known surgeon Muffazal Lakdawala, Chairman of Saifee Hospital's Institute of Minimal Access Surgical Sciences & Research Centre.
Prior to her surgery, she has lost over 120 kg within a month after coming to Mumbai for the treatment.
"In Egypt, Ahmed's diet primarily consisted of a couple of chicken sandwiches and custard, as per her current diet chart set by Nutritionist, Carlyne Remedios, Eman receives 200 ml feeds every two hour starting from 6 am to 12 midnight.
As per a member from Dr Lakdawala's team, Eman's protein supplement is mixed in 200 ml unflavoured soyamilk. She receives a total of 45 ml of Medium Chain Triglyceride (MCT) oil along with the feeds in order to meet her calorie values.
It is said that at present her total calorie intake is approximately 1,750 kcals and total protein intake is 200 gms.
Doctors hope Eman who is currently on post-operative care will lose another 200 kg during the course of 6-8 months so that she can sit up.
Eman will return to her hometown within few weeks and her weight loss progress will be tracked by the team of doctors.
