Uttarakhand Board exams 2021 for Class 10, 12 deferred indefinitely due to COVID-19 surge

New Delhi: Uttarakhand Education minister Arvind Pandey on Sunday (April 18) declared that the state Board exams for Class 10 have been cancelled and the tests have been deferred for Class 12.
This move comes after CBSE board exams 2021 were cancelled for Class 10 and postponed for class 12. Several other states have decided the same due to the daily increase in COVID-19 cases in the nation.
Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi are among the states which announced the cancellation of Class 10 examinations and deffering of Class 12 tests.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had earlier announced the closure of schools from classes 1 to 12 until April 30. In view of the sudden surge of COVID-19 cases, schools in the state will continue to remain shut till further notice.
The teachers and students were protesting to get the exams cancelled as they were scheduled to be held offline May 4th onwards.
